INTRODUCTION (POST BASIC )

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing is a 2-year undergraduate bridge programme designed exclusively for Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) holding a General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma. The programme enables working nursing professionals to upgrade their qualification to a Bachelor’s degree, thereby enhancing clinical competence, leadership capabilities, and career advancement opportunities in accordance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Candidates must be between 17 and 35 years of age at the time of admission.

Education

10+2 passing certificate from Arts or Science backgrounds along with a 3-year Diploma in GNM

Medical Fitness

Candidate must be medically fit as per INC regulations

Registration

Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM) with the State Nurses Registration Council

Admission Journey (Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing)

Admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme is conducted in accordance with the guidelines of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, the Indian Nursing Council (INC), the Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC), and the Government of Punjab. Admission is granted through the Punjab Post Basic Nursing Entrance Test (PPBNET) conducted by BFUHS.
  • Eligibility Criteria
Candidates seeking admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme must have successfully completed General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), be registered as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM) with the Punjab Nurses Registration Council (PNRC) or any other State Nursing Registration Council, and fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by BFUHS, INC, PNRC, and the Government of Punjab for the respective admission session.

Admission is subject to the latest notifications, eligibility criteria, counselling schedule, and regulations issued by BFUHS, INC, PNRC, and the Government of Punjab from time to time.
Online Registration
Eligible candidates must register online through the official PNRC admission portal within the prescribed schedule.
Entrance Examination (PPBNET)
Candidates are required to appear for and qualify the Punjab Post Basic Nursing Entrance Test (PPBNET) conducted by BFUHS for admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing programme.
Merit List
BFUHS prepares and publishes the merit list based on PPBNET scores, reservation policy, and eligibility criteria.
Online Counseling
Qualified candidates participate in centralized online counselling, where they can select their preferred college based on merit, category, and seat availability.
Seat Allotment
Seats are allotted according to merit, reservation policy, candidate preferences, and the availability of seats in PNRC-recognized ANM training institutions.
Document Verification & Fee Submission
Candidates allotted a seat must report to the allotted institution for verification of original documents and payment of the prescribed fee to confirm admission.

Fee Structure

The fee structure for all nursing programmes is prescribed in accordance with the guidelines of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), Faridkot, the Government of Punjab, and other regulatory authorities. The tuition fee and other applicable charges are subject to revision from time to time as notified by the competent authorities.
