Zero-Tolerance Policy

Rattan Professional Education College of Nursing is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. The College follows a Zero-Tolerance Policy towards ragging in any form. Ragging is strictly prohibited within the college campus, hostels, transportation, and at all locations associated with the institution.

The Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and other regulatory authorities to prevent, prohibit, and eliminate ragging from the campus. The Committee works to ensure a secure, welcoming, and supportive environment where every student can pursue their education with dignity and confidence.

Core Objectives

  • Prevent ragging in all its forms within the college campus and hostels.
  • Create awareness among students about the harmful effects and legal consequences of ragging.
  • Promote a culture of mutual respect, discipline, and responsible behaviour.
  • Ensure a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment for all students, especially freshers.
  • Encourage students to report incidents of ragging without fear.
  • Take prompt and appropriate action against any reported incidents of ragging.

Functions of the Anti-Ragging Committee

  • Monitor and maintain a ragging-free campus.
  • Organize awareness programmes, orientation sessions, and interactive meetings for students.
  • Receive, investigate, and address complaints related to ragging.
  • Recommend suitable disciplinary action against students found guilty of ragging.
  • Ensure confidentiality and protection for students reporting incidents.
  • Coordinate with the college administration to implement anti-ragging measures effectively.

What Constitutes Ragging?

Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts:

Physical Abuse

Assault, use of criminal force, or any act that causes bodily harm or trauma.

Psychological Harm

Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof.

Disciplinary Action

  • Warning or written apology.
  • Suspension from classes or academic activities.
  • Debarment from Examinations
  • Expulsion from the College
  • Cancellation of Admission
  • Rustication for specified period
  • Filing of a police complaint, wherever applicable.

How to Report Ragging

Students can report any incident of ragging without fear of retaliation by contacting the Anti-Ragging Committee or the College Administration. All complaints will be treated with strict confidentiality and investigated promptly.
